A talisman is by definition an object that is thought to have magical powers or bring about good luck.
I believe that these fit the description of a talisman, though you may call them what you will. I used to call them meditation stones, though that name didn’t truly resonate, as the object itself isn’t a stone even if it contains them.
If you have followed any of my work or looked at my website over the years, you may have noticed that it is as ever changing as I am. There are times when everything has a name, a description, when I am compelled to write down or describe the vast amount of information I feel is linked to each thing I create. There are also other times, where I have deleted those names and descriptions, and felt like the world was closing in on me and everything I was creating and had created was unnameable, indescribable, and felt immeasurable stress at feeling as though it was something I “had” to do. I have recently gone through a period of numbering, where I brought myself out of it completely as I felt each piece spoke for itself and required no name.
I have come back to myself, back to deeper meanings and hidden truths. You may notice that things again have no name, and that is because I don’t believe that numbers contain the essence of the piece. I am coming back to names, to descriptions, to that sense of joy that comes with the implied and imbued meaning of everything I create. If you feel drawn to something that has no name, feel free to take that as a sign that you are meant to be the namer, the co-creator of its identity.
